Can IT Afford Not to Experiment?

In IT we often do pilot programs when introducing new technology to faculty and staff. But what about when we're designing new services? We've developed a process of iterative trial periods of about six weeks followed by gathering feedback from IT staff and stakeholders when developing both internal and external services.
