Seminar 09A - Creating Agile Organizations
PLEASE NOTE: Separate registration and fee is required to attend this seminar.

Tuesday, October 18 | 9:30AM–1:00PM | Meeting Room 108B
Session Type: E11
This workshop will provide a practical dialogue and exercises supporting practitioners interested in or currently engaged in developing an agile organization. Facilitators will present a working maturity model that can serve as a framework for establishing agile management and governance, case studies from UMassOnline and other institutions highlighting our experiences in introducing agile principles and fostering agile organizations, and specific tools and techniques for modeling and promoting agile behaviors.Participants will assess their own managerial and operational style, as well as their institution's approach to decision making, to measure agility and illustrate the diversity of current and potential implementation strategies. Leaving with an understanding of agile principles, as well as a blueprint for introducing or increasing agility within their institutions, participants will become practitioners, empowered to explain the organizational and operational benefits of an agile approach for their home institutions, address resistance to adoption, guide implementation, and continually assess and refine practice. Please Note: a laptop is required for this seminar.
