Building Blocks of CBE: Backward Design, Authentic Assessment, Credentials, and Evidence-Based Learning

The EDUCAUSE paper on the next generation digital learning environment and the IMS/C-BEN work on CBE and credentialing standards outlined a transformational vision for institutions to consider. In this session, we will propose important implementation elements that will enable this transition, including backward design, authentic assessment, learning analytics, and standards-based learner records.
