Transformation: The 2020 Model for Academic Technologies and Collaborative Learning Communities (Pilot Program/Emerging Technology)

Monday, February 14 | 5:00PM–6:00PM | Jefferson
Session Type: Professional Development
Today's academic support model will require changes to be relevant in the next decade. Libraries and information technology will need to develop a ubiquitous support service for faculty and students that accommodates the transition to digital resources available on campus and the services available from Web 2.0 cloud vendor community. The academic support organization must rethink the traditional branch library and the student lab, offering solutions that address the demand for commons spaces to access information collaboratively. Change will be challenged by traditional practices, and academic support in the future must transcend former practices to encourage relevancy.
