Leveraging a Faculty Awards Program to Transform a Campus's Approach to Learning Technologies

Tuesday, February 05 | 2:30PM–4:30PM | Plaza Exhibit
Session Type: Professional Development

Our diverse team of instructional and multimedia designers works collaboratively with instructors on a relatively small number of courses each year yet strives to have an institution-wide impact through strategic innovation, the exploration of emerging technologies, and the creation of partnerships across campus. Recent contributions to our campus include the MicroExplorer 3D, a web and mobile solution for students to learn how to use a compound microscope, identified in last year's Horizon Report. We will share more examples of innovation and the breadth of technologies we've explored, as well as strategies we've found successful to improve student learning.

Learning Objectives:
* Articulate strategies for building a team to strategically explore innovative tools and techniques that will have a broad impact on learning outcomes across multiple courses
* Describe a process that allows selection of technologies that can best improve student success by meeting the teaching and learning challenges at your institution
* Design an awards program that leverages partnerships across the institution to solicit and select projects that will best serve the students, faculty, and the university
