Why We're Partnering with Heart and Hand

As we work to create a nurturing community so all young people can realize their potential, Heart and Hand Staff spend approximately one hour each day providing one-on-one reading support and tutoring to youth—an annual program expense of $15,000 devoted to youth literacy.

65% of Denver's students who are not reading proficiently by 4th grade end up in jail or are on welfare. 92% of the youth at Heart and Hand have committed to graduate from high school, and they work alongside teachers to customize tutorial plans to increase likelihood of graduation. Your generosity will provide support so that the cycle of poverty may be disrupted as we strive to close the opportunity gap.
