Building an Information and IT Compliance Program

Thursday, May 17 | 12:00PM–1:00PM | White River Ballroom A
Session Type: Professional Development
Higher education has seen an unprecedented increase in laws and regulations that govern everything from the way we handle student data to our processing of credit card information. At first we all addressed compliance regulation by regulation, but this model is inefficient, results in conflicts between the guidance issued by the various areas, and is confusing for employees who must comply with multiple regulations. In this session, representatives from two universities will provide an overview of the major compliance issues facing higher education and describe an approach to building and maintaining an effective compliance program.
