IT Policy in Higher Education: Now a Presidential Concern

Tuesday, October 10, 2006 | 12:40PM–1:30PM | Room D171/173
Session Type: Professional Development
IT policy issues, once the province of the campus IT leaders, now demand an increasing share of attention across the entire campus executive leadership. As IT becomes a critical, core service of campus operations and a central feature of strategic plans, it must rise to the level of boardroom discussions. Hear how the American Council on Education, EDUCAUSE, and other higher education associations work together to create and share a "higher education position" on pressing issues such as network neutrality, CALEA, and P2P file sharing with campus and government leaders.

Presenters

  • Terry Hartle

Senior VP, Government and Public Affairs, American Council on Education (ACE)
