Policing the Internet: Higher Education Law and Policy

The government is increasingly looking to Internet service providers, including colleges and universities, as a source of communications data to aid in the investigation and prosecution of illegal behavior. Recent government initiatives include the USA PATRIOT Act, CALEA, and European Union Data Directive. This session will explore emerging legal and policy issues for higher education as Internet access and content providers.
