Resistance to improving business processes in the course of planning and early implementation of an ERP initiative need not result in a disappointing list of missed opportunities. Fordham University's creation of a cross-functional program under CIO leadership to identify specific "targets of opportunity" based on imminent and anticipated ERP outputs reintroduced and supported improved business processes as key ERP outcomes.
