Seminar 04F - Greening IT: Achieving Progress Through Partnerships, Portfolios, and Playbooks

Tuesday, November 03, 2009 | 9:30AM–5:30PM | Meeting Room 405
Session Type: E09 Hybrid
This seminar will teach you how to achieve greener IT on your campus through the use of partnerships, portfolios, and playbooks. We will start with how to establish a solid green IT portfolio of programs, then explain the need for partnerships and review the collaborations you should form to maximize your return on investment.

We will conclude with the creation and use of a playbook, reviewing lessons learned from work done at MIT and elsewhere. The examples range from individual computer users' actions to infrastructure changes to reducing power and cooling demands in data centers. When done, you'll have a guide to establish or enhance your campus's efforts to move toward sustainable IT.
