In addition, this session will focus on emotional intelligence (EI) and explore the crucial linkages between EI, behavior styles, values, and leadership success over the long term. The realities we confront as leaders today make emotional intelligence a critical concept. An institution's ability to survive tomorrow's challenges largely depends on whether its leaders can manage emotions in the face of change. For example, emotionally intelligent leaders remain focused and clear-thinking under pressure. This session will introduce the concepts and key components of emotional intelligence, provide an assessment of individual EI competencies, and explain the impact of EI on successful leadership.
