Seminar 06P - Course Management System Adoption and Implementation: Piecing Together the Puzzle for Optimal Success

Tuesday, November 03, 2009 | 2:00PM–5:30PM | Korbel Ballroom 4C
Session Type: E09 Hybrid
Once the extensive decision-making process for adopting a course management system concludes, how does the completed implementation puzzle look? What does the university gain, and what benefits accrue to the instructional community? What are the tangible pieces to this puzzle that must be exposed, rearranged, and organized? The multiple strategies necessary for the transition, implementation, and support of the implementation, as well as stakeholders' participation and contributions are a few of the interlocking pieces of the puzzle.

This engaging and interactive seminar will enable attendees to explore and experience organizational implementation steps and strategies that affect (1) transitioning to a new CMS, (2) providing faculty and administrative support, and (3) fostering a campus governance community that guides sound pedagogical practices. Through investigative and synergetic activities, we will piece together the interconnected factors of successful CMS adoption and implementation within the academic community.

PLEASE NOTE: You will need to bring a laptop computer with wireless connectivity and a Web browser in order to participate in the hands-on exercises or use the Web to publish your notes.
