Social Networks for Teaching and Learning: Implementation and Assessment

This session presents results of quantitative and qualitative analysis of the effectiveness of social collaborative tools to support (1) in-class discussion, (2) comprehension and retention of class material, and (3) community building and culture formation. A matrix of results will compare four platforms: Microsoft SharePoint, MediaWiki, Google Sites, and Ning.
