A National Broadband Plan (Finally!): What We've Learned, and What It Means for Higher Ed

Wednesday, October 13 | 11:30AM–12:20PM | Meeting Room 303A
Session Type: E2010
Nearly a decade after countries in Asia and Europe announced their national broadband plans, we finally have one for the United States. What does it mean? Will it be enough to keep us internationally competitive and innovative? This session will discuss the goals the Federal Communications Commission has laid out, the prospects for their implementation, and the possible impact on the higher education community.
