Past, Present, and Prospects: The Role, Rise, and Potential Demise of the CIO
Past, Present, and Prospects: The Role, Rise, and Potential Demise of the CIO
Thursday, October 14, 2010 | 4:30PM–5:20PM | Meeting Room 303C/D
Session Type:
E2010
Where goes the CIO? Campus IT leaders confront rising expectations (entitlements?) for IT resources and services, budget cuts across all levels of IT services, and the reorganization of IT units prompted in part by budget pressures. Additionally, many campuses are repositioning the role of the CIO on the larger campus organizational chart. The four CIOs in this panel discussion will explore these issues and more, including the "CIO leadership crisis," personal and professional challenges and opportunities, and the mea culpa moments—what they have learned both from their own bad decisions and those of other IT leaders.
