Session Type: E2010
The seminar will focus on creating an effective IT organization that can meet the challenges of today's higher education environment. There will be a discussion on methods to nurture the effective use of technology in both the academic and administrative areas of the college. The QC case study will be used as a baseline for discussion on the use of ITIL and PMI methods to create transparency, efficiencies, and innovative thinking. We will provide examples of low-cost project management tools that use Microsoft Excel, Lotus Notes, and other technologies. We will focus on people management and offer examples of retreats, including those centered on people management training. We'll also address how to build a PMO for an enterprise project like PeopleSoft; manage change management; build a PMO for an IT organization; and partner with vendors, donors, and faculty.
