Social Media

Thursday, October 14, 2010 | 5:30PM–6:30PM | San Diego, Lower Level, Marriott Hotel
Session Type: E2010
As an extension of our discussion last year, we will again focus on harnessing the power of social media and look to group members to share their experiences. We will explore the implications of the integration of social media throughout higher education for various purposes (e.g., teaching, recruiting, advising, and more). Social media, for our purposes, is defined as media that is used to build social networks and connections for sharing information through a mediated channel. Examples of social media include Twitter, Facebook, Second Life, LinkedIn, YouTube, Flickr, and more.
