The 2011 EDUCAUSE Current Issues Committee identified mobile technologies as "the #1 issue that IT leaders felt had the potential to become more significant." ECAR's 2011 study of mobile IT provides benchmarking information from a representative sample of colleges and universities on the adoption and deployment of mobile information technologies and the delivery of key institutional services to end users' mobile devices. The study also provides recommendations about cross-institutional collaborations in mobile IT.
