This presentation will offer a big picture introduction of macroforces-not all technical-that impact the expanding educational ecosystem. Based on the 128 higher education responses (of 2,014 total) to the 2011 Gartner CIO Agenda survey, we will discuss whether higher education CIO strategies are right. What are the current macroforces? Are they enabling or disrupting the education ecosystem? What can CIOs do to cope with or take advantage of them?
