The "teaching machine" envisioned in the past (e.g., the 1967 film 1999 A.D.) is becoming a reality. We will examine the ability of digital learning materials (DLMs) like interactive tutorials, simulations, and games to engage learners and become an essential resource for enhancing student learning across all disciplines and learning environments.
