Information Security Community Update

Wednesday, October 19 | 3:30PM–4:20PM
Session Type: E11
Information security morphs and changes along with our constantly changing technology. What should we do about securing mobile devices? How do we ensure security in the cloud? What can we do to secure the exploding amounts of research data? These and many other issues are the focus of the Higher Education Information Security Council (HEISC). Examples of what the Council addresses include: best practices, standardized and cost-effective approaches, the security of controls for service provider partners, security awareness programs, and keeping security on executive management's agenda. Attendees are invited to bring their most pressing security concerns, as well as suggestions for improving information security in higher education. We will also discuss available HEISC resources and volunteer opportunities.
