Second Life is used to engage students to experiment with biological and chemical material in a shared local space, to facilitate experimentation in risk-free learning spaces in line with real-life laboratory work, and to integrate with learning biotech/chemistry terminology and language tuition, which is essential in internationalization of academic institutions.
