PLEASE NOTE: Separate registration and fee is required to attend this seminar.

Tuesday, October 18 | 2:00PM–5:30PM | Meeting Room 108A
Session Type: E11
IT governance enhances the intelligent use of IT project resources in higher education by providing a shared, rational, and transparent framework for the selection, prioritization, and implementation of IT projects. As resource challenges persist, it is vital that IT project choices are guided by stakeholders, support enterprise strategies, and ensure that mission-critical items are addressed at the highest priority. Complementing IT governance, portfolio management facilitates communication and reporting throughout the enterprise, drives transparency and accountability, and provides insight into managing human and financial resources and project scheduling. This seminar will provide an overview of the human and technical aspects, considerations, and barriers when implementing an IT governance process. Using the building blocks of IT governance, participants will work through hands-on activities to design a strategic governance process to fit their organization, as well as review how to develop the process and tools for portfolio management to support the governance process.
