Seminar 18A - How to Develop, Implement, and Assess Mobile Learning at an Undergraduate Institution

In this session, learn how to leverage mobile technology to enhance student engagement and learning in undergraduate courses. We will examine a case study of mobile learning in the Organic Chemistry I and II courses at Georgia Gwinnett College and introduce the Thayer method of teaching and learning (sometimes referred to as "inverted learning"), which was initiated at West Point in the mid-1800's and subsequently developed at Dartmouth College. In addition to developing a list of courses and content topics suitable for mobile learning at your institution and planning for how to assess implementation of mobile learning, we will outline a suitable support structure (hardware, software, administration) to support your campus initiatives and create an implementation timeline. At the end of the seminar, you'll have a framework for how to implement mobile learning at your institution.
