Strategies grounded in social learning theory and Keller's motivation model to promote active and interactive learning were used to study the level and quality of student interaction, the quality of learning, and the impact of timely feedback. Study results show that active and interactive learning activities combined with timely feedback contribute to student satisfaction and retention in online courses.
