Seminar 01A - Practical Strategies for Using Mobile and Social Technology in Your Course (separate registration required)

Tuesday, November 06, 2012 | 10:00AM–1:00PM
Session Type: E122

There are more mobile devices than ever before in the hands of college students and faculty. What can these tools help us do in the classroom? What does a reasonable implementation of mobile or social media tools look like? What seems to work, and what doesn't? This session will connect research and two years of practical experience implementing mobile tools into classrooms for thousands of students, using some of the social media strategies and tools we recommend during the session. Participants will leave with practical strategies to implement social media tools and mobile technology (or both) in their own classes, no matter the size, and a comprehensive list of free classroom tools. Discussion and activities will help participants refine their personal ideas and guide their planned implementation to line up with course goal and activities.
