Seminar 02P - IT Leadership Now: In the Cloud, On the Ground, All Around (separate registration required)

Tuesday, November 06, 2012 | 1:30PM–5:00PM | Meeting Room 301/302
Session Type: E12
What really happens when a significant segment of IT services formerly managed on-premise are moved to external providers? How do the roles of the CIO and the IT staff change and what essential staff and skillsets are needed on campus? Do you have a strategy for leading your organization through these critical challenges? We'll use the SUNY Old Westbury experience as a case study to fuel debate and conjecture about the impact of cloud services and collaboration on all of our organizations and on the changing role of the CIO. Old Westbury has moved a significant portion of critical services (ERP, LMS, BI, Portal, password resets, e-mail, website, library systems) "to the cloud" and can report back from the front lines. Panel members will share their current strategies and insight while encouraging your participation.
