Project management is not a new topic in the public sectors but may be new to many in higher education. This daylong seminar will focus on different aspects of project management and how the discipline can be applied at schools of all varieties. The day will include presentations by different schools on project initiation, project management offices, and time tracking for projects. The day will also offer individual group sessions and discussion on additional topics including project management tools, status reporting, business analytics, and basic project management fundamentals. The sessions and topics are those that come up most often as a part of the PM Constituent Group and discussions through EDUCAUSE e-mail lists. Topics discussed will apply to schools at all levels of project management maturity. Participants of the workshop will also be able to earn 7 professional development units through PMI toward certification, or recertification, of their PMI credentials.
