New managers now have responsibilities that include managing people, negotiating institutional policies and politics, and communicating with staff, faculty, and peers. Designed for new IT managers, this seminar will introduce basic management philosophy and provide a context and strategies for being a successful manager.


OUTCOMES: Understand the importance of a good boss * Explore the traits, strengths, and behaviors of an effective IT manager in higher education * Identify where ?good boss? strengths lie and develop action steps for return to work that will use those strengths
