Seminar 16P - Nurturing an Academic Tablet Initiative; or, OK, Everyone Has a Tablet, Now What? (separate registration is required)

Monday, September 29 | 1:30PM–5:00PM | Meeting Room W308A/B
Session Type: Professional Development

The success of tablet initiatives depends on an effective launch and maintaining engagement. Initiatives lose momentum for predictable, preventable reasons. In this flipped seminar, we'll explore the pitfalls of using tablets and share solutions, with a focus on their academic value and integration with existing tools, and developing good practices for user support, application management, and communication.

OUTCOMES: Assess strategies for supporting tablet initiatives by comparing them with good practices * Devise plans for addressing gaps in tablet initiatives and leverage working relationships formed in the seminar * Develop a set of long-term goals and objectives for tablet initiatives that help maintain faculty and student excitement, engagement, and innovation
