How Organizations Can Learn from Failure

Wednesday, October 28, 2015 | 12:40PM–1:30PM | Meeting Room 237-238
Session Type: Professional Development

All organizations must deal with failure—of projects and initiatives, of individuals and organizations. Failure should not be fatal to an organization; it can be used to grow, develop, and improve. This is not just the idea of "failing fast," which can be looked at as another type of prototyping, this is developing the understanding of what to do when things go wrong. In this session, we will discuss failures and how to get beyond failure and move on as organizations. The goal is to understand how to recognize failures when they have occurred, learn how to make them something that does not define your organization, and create environments where individuals are empowered and not paralyzed by the fear of failure.
