Rethinking Learning Spaces: The Transition from High School to College to Lifelong Learning Environments: Dell Think Tank

Thursday, October 29, 2015 | 2:30PM–3:20PM | Learning Theater, Exhibit Hall H-K
Session Type: Professional Development
With today's employers requiring graduates who have been trained to research, create, solve problems, and work in teams, traditional learning spaces don't provide students the hands-on experience they need, nor do they meet their modern expectations. How can a space help students collaboratively practice, encourage discovery, and teach one another?

Outcomes: Understand environment expectations of incoming and current students, and how their input can influence a space's design * Discuss designing for new modes of learning and preparing students for the professional world * Learn how the design of interior spaces can encourage practice, openness, and creativity
