Robot Writers and the Future of Open Learning Materials

Wednesday, October 28 | 12:40PM–1:30PM | Meeting Room 233-234
Session Type: Professional Development
Robot reporters are already used to develop original narratives that cover news, sports, and economic markets. Combining the same algorithmic approaches to sources of open content, textbooks can now be outlined by authors and written by robots. This session will explore how machine learning advances the creation of course content.

Outcomes: Learn how machine-learning concepts can be applied to the generation of learning content * Critically evaluate machine-generated content and identify typical pitfalls * Identify opportunities for using machine-learning technologies to enable and expand the use of OER
