Safe Space: An Introduction to Inclusivity of the LGBT Community

This session will explore LGBT vocabulary and terminology, heterosexual privilege, and allyship. Presenters will introduce current trends in LGBT inclusion through active engagement with various tools and concepts. This session will challenge participants to go beyond tolerance of the LGBT community and help them develop their skills as allies in the workplace.


Outcomes: Understand the difference between gender expression, gender identity, and sexual orientation * Recognize heterosexual privilege and how it manifest in the workplace * Leave with an ally action plan to begin developing yourself, your office, and your university
