The Currency of Higher Education: Credits and Competencies

Our joint research investigates barriers to the adoption of competency-based education and how competencies can provide a new currency that augments the value of credits in educational ecosystems. Competencies document student achievement and create meaningful connections between jobseekers and employment, for faculty and staff development, and for economic development.
