The Digitally Native Generation Z Is Going to College: Are You Ready?

Thursday, October 29, 2015 | 10:10AM–11:00AM | Sagamore Ballroom 5
Session Type: Professional Development
Gen Z has never known a world without constant connectivity. Technology is just part of their lives, which influences what and how they learn. In K–12, they are experiencing a more student-centric education model with technology as differentiator and renewed focus on critical skills. While K–12 is undergoing a transformation, higher education has been slower to adapt. To help Gen Z transition to college, reduce decreasing college retention rates, and improve higher education, universities must become digitally native too. What is your school doing to attract, retain, and give students the skills they need for the future? This session will address Google's efforts to help students transition from K–12 to college and ensure that higher ed is equipped for the "new normal" of constant connectivity.
