User Perceptions of Information Security: A Multinational Perspective

Individuals at various age levels and from different cultures may have varying perceptions of information security and what they perceive as a threat. The session disseminates results from a large-scale mixed-methods study that was disseminated in the United States and Spain that examines technology use in each culture and how individuals in each culture perceive online threats.


Outcomes: Understand how cultural differences factor in perception of threats online * Learn about what people in different cultures feel is the biggest online threat * Identify common threats in how different cultures perceive online threats
