Supporting Research that Extends Past Institutional Boundaries

This session will review changes in health sciences research and NIH-strategic changes that encourage and require multi-institutional and multi-disciplinary collaborative projects. Using activities such as BIRN and caBIG, the overall challenges presented by collaborative projects and the benefits of middleware will be addressed. The session following at 2:30 pm will offer specific strategies for addressing these challenges in the management and technical arenas.
