Supporting Virtual Organizations: Leveraging Local Identity Management Infrastructures

As difficult as it is to coordinate across units within a given institution, supporting research initiatives that cross institutional boundaries, is another, more challenging frontier. Building on the foundations discussed earlier in the CAMP, this session will define some of the problems unique to inter-institutional and virtual organization-based research programs and show how middleware services from NSF and Internet2 middleware initiatives can be applied to those problems.
