Higher Education's Role in Crafting a National Broadband Vision
Friday, February 18, 2005 | 9:30AM–10:15AM | Austin South - 2nd Floor
Session Type:
Professional Development
As federal policymakers revisit the Telecommunications Act and shape a national telecommunications plan for the 21st century, the higher education community must remain engaged to ensure that long-term education and research concerns are addressed. Through its white paper, "Broadband America: An Unrealized Vision," the Net@EDU Broadband Policy working group articulates a higher education vision for an affordable national broadband network. This session will showcase the paper's key principles and objectives and demonstrate why your active involvement is essential in promoting a visionary national broadband policy.
