An aging network with over-extended staff, troubled by increasing student demands for more bandwidth and extended services, prompted Southwestern University's decision to outsource its campus residential network. As highlighted in a recent publication of The Chronicle of Higher Education (Dec. 4, 2004), Southwestern University will discuss the issues that led to their decision and will cover the process and costs (incurred and saved), as well as the first 18 months of operation.
