TTU Neighborhood Watch—Take a Byte Out of Internet Crime: The CIO Safe Computing Practices Campaign

As the Internet environment becomes increasingly hostile, user education and awareness are paramount to successful IT management. While intrusion detection devices and software solutions are necessary, an informed user community thwarts security invasions and protects valued information. The CIO Office at Texas Tech designed a multifaceted educational and marketing campaign to increase security and to empower customers. Directed at the university and regional communities, the campaign has an ambitious and detailed strategic plan, as well as a comprehensive assessment component.
