Technology Enabled Active Learning (TEAL) is a new, highlycollaborative format for freshman physics education at MIT designed togreatly improve student achievement. This course transformation yieldedsubstantial increases in student understanding and decreases in failurerates. We will do a "mini-class" in the TEAL format in this session. Wewill also discuss the assessment of this pedagogy and the difficultiesencountered in its implementation.
