To Open Source or Not to Open Source: Strategic Planning

Monday, August 08, 2005 | 2:00PM–3:30PM | Snobble Room (Second Floor, Conference Center)
Session Type: Professional Development
With open source options for most of the academic enterprise stack (e.g. Moodle, Sakai, Kuali, OSPI, uPortal) and many "open course" online resources, what are the issues? What are the risks, trade-offs, and returns on investment? Discussion will focus on how to decide whether to adopt open source and how to "sell" the idea on your campus.
