Centrally defined privilege management requires a solid integration strategy to assure that privileges expressed by policies and assigned by users are appropriately applied in a timely manner. There are also many compensating technical benefits, such as a single focus for automatic life-cycle controls. In this context, we will introduce the Signet privilege management system, an Internet2 middleware product that demonstrates principles discussed in this session.
