Monday, June 01 | 5:45PM–6:30PM | International B/C (6th Floor)
Session Type: Professional Development
This presentation will provide insights and suggestions to help maximize collaborative and individual learning in an information commons area. Attendees will be grouped in small teams of four to facilitate interaction and provide answers to workshop questions for the attendees at large. Starting with an historical perspective of why and how spaces were adapted for collaborative use, the presentation will provide the background, research process and phases, summary of survey results, assessment data, observations, recommendations, and lessons learned. The presentation is based on an article published in the winter 2008 edition of EDUCAUSE Quarterly.
