Functioning as a Leader When You're Not at the Top

Tuesday, June 02, 2009 | 10:30AM–11:15AM
Session Type: Professional Development
We tend to think of leadership qualities as being most important for individuals who are in obvious senior positions on the organizational chart: CIOs, presidents, deans, and the like. But what about learning to function as a leader when your position is way down the totem pole of your organization? The good news is that anyone can provide leadership to the institution regardless of job title or pay grade. In this session we will explore how people can function in a leadership capacity even if they look like “nonleaders” to the average observer.
