Providing Auditory and Visual Assessment to Students

Monday, June 01 | 4:45PM–5:30PM | International B/C (6th floor)
Session Type: Professional Development
Providing students with rich feedback and meaningful assessment serves their formative and summative pedagogical needs. Using auditory and visual assessment, coupled with traditional handwritten feedback, works well for traditional and distance learners; it's also students' preference. This session will provide study results where students ranked assessment methods to improve their written communication. It will also include examples of how tools like Adobe Connect, Camtasia, and Jing provide auditory and visual feedback and assessment. These tools help students better understand their mistakes and how to improve. Students view this assessment process as receiving individual attention, like visiting an instructor during office hours.
