Gmail at UC Davis: Lessons Learned

Wednesday, April 15, 2009 | 9:30AM–10:15AM | Monterey I
Session Type: Professional Development
The electronic messaging landscape is changing as many students come to universities with their own e-mail accounts through online providers. Simultaneously, universities are challenged to provide the rich feature sets provided by these companies and are struggling with the increased costs associated with expanded storage requirements, virus protection, and spam filtering. This presentation will discuss the process by which UC Davis addressed these issues and replaced the central campus e-mail service with Google's Gmail as the campus e-mail service for all students.
